Purpose of Position

Managing a team of crew training specialists, this position is responsible for ensuring that the crew training plan is implemented and controlled to efficiently support safe flight operation with trained and qualified crew members, in line with company objectives and in compliance with all regulations and company policies.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate NetJets Europe team members in their areas of expertise and through performance metrics, driving for a culture of excellence and results. 
  • Perform regular quality checks at the different stages of the simulator, ground and flight training events (type rating, recurrent, base checks, ZFTT, LIFUS, AHQ, special airports, remedial, upgrade, cruise relief pilot, etc.) to ensure a compliant, safe, timely and quality service by the team and to identify areas of improvement; 
  • Control the Training department's record-keeping systems, processes and procedures by performing regular quality checks to ensure continued legal/regulatory compliance with EU, UK and ANAC regulations and NetJets policies; 
  • Develop and maintain suitable training processes, procedures and guidelines to ensure safe, high-quality and efficient provision of training and legal/regulatory compliance with EU, UK and ANAC regulations; 
  • Set up and track KPIs and statistics on crew training activities for monthly reporting to Senior Training Management, highlighting trends and safety and quality concerns and providing recommendations to drive continuous improvement in support of the Training Centre of Excellence; 
  • Ensure the Crew Training Specialists team maintains working knowledge of the EU, UK and National Aviation Authorities regulations as applicable to their area of expertise; 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the continuous improvement of the Training Management Systems; 
  • Guarantee inter-departmental coordination with relevant stakeholders, external training providers and National Aviation Authorities to ensure alignment with company goals and policies; 
  • Effectively monitor the level of service provided by external training providers to ensure safe provision of training and compliance with service level agreements and the applicable crew training policies, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations; 
  • Provide specialist input during external and internal audits as subject matter expert on Crew licensing and training; 
  • Assist with budget management processes, settle invoices, Crew expenses claims and related documentation retention as required;
  • Keep up to date with EU, UK and ANAC requirements in what concerns the Crew Training Specialists area of expertise and support the implementation of regulatory changes by NetJets; 
  • Support the Senior Training Management in developing and executing the strategy for the crew training to ensure the achievement of company and departmental goals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • 3 years’ experience in managing/supervising a team;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Crew Training, Scheduling or Resources Planning highly desirable;
  • Good knowledge of EASA Air Ops, EASA Part-FCL, UK and ANAC training regulations highly desirable;
  • Able to make sound decisions and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a complex demanding environment;
  • Evidence of organisational skills, attention to detail and methodical and planning ability;
  • Strong communication skills;

  • Fluency in Business English (written and spoken);
  • High Proficiency in MS Office (Expert MS Access)
