Title: IT Applications Support Engineer (NJE)

Purpose of Position
Coordinate software releases and perform the liaison role between App Support Team, IT Business Analysts and developers (internal or external). Review and test the quality of new and modified software before being released to production. Verify that the software meets the user requirements and conforms to the company standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Coordinate, manage, evaluate and test new or modified software releases to verify that applications function according to user requirements and comply with company guidelines and best practices;
- Recommend changes or corrections to applications to eliminate errors or to improve stability, performance and responsiveness;
- Review coding from developers to ensure that the code conforms to company and industry best practices, as well as ensuring that the code is well documented and capable of producing the required outcome required by the business;
- Actively participate in meetings where new applications or updates to existing applications are planned with Business Analysts and third-party developers;
- Install and configure business application servers and databases according to Company policies and standards and ensure full functionality;
- Develop, document and communicate related application and database systems policies, procedures and guidelines as defined by management;
- Conduct daily systems monitoring, verify its integrity and availability, review application logs, control periodic backup operations related to databases and applications ensuring system’s integrity and security of data;
- Provide second tier support on internal applications and reported software issues;
- Participate in an on-call after-hours support rotation;
- Evaluate data integrity and document all remediation requirements associated or not to software issues;
- Detect, document and track software issues so that defects can be proactively corrected, performing any required escalation to the developers responsible for the application until fully resolved and placed into production;
- Manage business applications and database related projects and activities as well as forward planning and control of any related task;
- Assist the IT Operations Manager in implementing, testing and maintaining business applications disaster recovery plans, ensuring that business activities are not affected despite any complexity or risks.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or extensive proven general IT experience to ensure the same level of knowledge;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development;
- Experience in Microsoft C#, HTML, Java and ASP.NET programming;
- Strong understanding of software development process Strong experience in Microsoft SQL programming and database management;
- Fluency in Business English (written and spoken);
- High Proficiency in MS Office.
