Purpose of Position

Support NetJets Europe Head of Tax in executing the tax strategy of all NetJets Europe company taxation policy, with focus in direct taxes. Ensure all NetJets entities are tax compliant in all relevant territories where NetJets operates and support the Head of tax in the development of the direct taxes’ practices within NetJets Group. Legally minimize tax liabilities and mitigate tax risks, recommend improvements in the operation of NetJets Europe tax function and be the contact point with the local tax authorities when necessary to address tax issues, provide explanations/documents and make sure tax audits are conducted the best and smoothly way possible. Provide internal tax consultancy when necessary.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•    In collaboration with the Manager of Indirect Taxes, lead, guide, assign activities within team and monitor day-to-day delivery to ensure the Team is fully aware and in compliance with NetJets Europe company taxation policy focused on indirect taxes and in order to manage workload, to maximize performance and ensure that objectives are accomplished.
•    Orientate and participate in the development of NetJets Europe International and Direct tax practice.
•    In collaboration with the Manager of Indirect Taxes, manage the performance of the team, while assessing training needs and providing coaching in order to develop the team and optimize their career development.
•    Ensure NetJets Europe entities are compliant with the Tax rules in all relevant territories where NetJets operates, with a main focus in International and Direct Taxation (which include, employee withholding taxes, social security and other parafiscal charges), as well as in relation with all Mandatory reporting obligations (Public CbC report, ATAD Directives, Pilar 2, DAC 6, UK specific obligations, etc)
•    Analise and review all internal process and tax structures with a main focus in Direct taxes, Employee Taxes and with International Taxation involving NJE Group Entities but ensuring all areas of tax are duly addressed.
•    Maintain and support transfer pricing transactions in order to ensure compliance with tax requirements.
•    Compute the monthly corporate income tax provision and report to the US.
•    Assist NetJets Europe Head of Tax with research, investigation and study of all tax regimes (with a main focus in Direct taxes, employee taxes and international taxation), legal frameworks and tax solutions when issues arise. Research tax consequences of transactions. Investigate and analyse new legislation that may impact NetJets’ operation.
•    Provide guidance and best solutions to optimize NJE Tax position, with a main focus in Direct tax exposure in the different countries where NetJets operates as well as in relation to international tax matters, applicable to all NetJets Europe and NetJets US group companies
•    Answer other departments’ questions on taxation issues daily.
•    Support the Head of Tax and the Manager of Indirect Tax with suppliers (namely, opening and control of P.O.s; analysis of suppliers’ invoices when rejected by AP team and, obtaining certificates of residency whenever requested).
•    Explain/answer on Tax Authorities questions and requests to provide relevant information. Conduct tax audits performed by the tax authorities under supervision of NetJets Europe’s Head of Tax and in Coordination with the Manager of Indirect Taxes.
•    Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

•    University degree in Management and/or Economics.
•    4 to 6 years of prior experience addressing and dealing with Direct Tax issues, with at least 3 years of experience on one of the “Big 4” firms.
•    Knowledge of most common taxes and taxation mechanisms.
•    Knowledge of accounting principles.
•    Knowledge of Portuguese tax compliance and procedures, extensive experience in investigating and analysing international tax rules.
•    Fluency in Business English (written and spoken).
•    Proficiency in MS Office.
•    Attention to detail.
