Purpose of Position
The Scheduling Specialist primary purpose is to contribute to the efficient, safe, and cost-effective scheduling of flights, encompassing both company and vendor operations. Collaborate in optimizing the allocation of resources, including aircraft, crew members, and vendor partnerships, to maintain operational excellence. Assist in managing flight schedules, ensuring compliance with regulations, and strategically utilizing internal and external resources. The role involves addressing defined and straightforward problems using existing standard technical/operational procedures or methods. Apply basic technical/operational skills in operational processes to perform routine and straightforward activities within the area of expertise.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, managing, and optimizing flight schedules, ensuring optimal use of aircraft, crew resources, for cost efficiency, aircraft utility and cycles, including effective use of vendor operations, under guidance;
- Support the assessment and allocation of certain flights to company fleet and vendor operations, aligning with safety, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate in addressing scheduling conflicts, unexpected delays, and operational challenges. Participate in evaluating available resources across company groups and vendor partners to propose effective recovery solutions.
- Assist in maintaining clear communication with cockpit and cabin crew members, vendors, and other departments. Support in facilitating briefings on new schedules, changes, and operational requirements.
- Utilize scheduling software and tools to support the creation, optimization, and monitoring of scheduling plans and flight execution.
- Stay informed about company/department communications, procedures, technological advancements, and process improvements to contribute to scheduling efficiency.
- Ensure professional development is kept up to date by engaging in ongoing training and learning.

- Degree in Aviation, Transportation, or a related field (preferred);
- At least 6 months of experience in flight operations, scheduling, or vendor management in the aviation industry.
- Demonstrated interest in flight operations, scheduling, or vendor management in the aviation industry;
- Knowledge in aviation regulations and safety standards;
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Growing problem-solving, organizational, communication and negotiation skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with guidance.
