Purpose of Position

The Director of IT (Application Owner) provides IT application leadership and oversight through business and IT partnership for assigned business areas. Ensures alignment to business capability maturity and IT strategy. Provides overall direction and guidance to implementation teams. Oversees end to end application roadmaps and execution  of IT applications. This position is responsible for the enterprise application suite for NetJets, to include HR, Finance, Legal and Procurement

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the enterprise application suite for NetJets, to include HR, Finance, Legal and Procurement.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure application direction aligns with business and IT strategies by  aligning application lifecycle roadmaps to Business capability maturity and IT strategy 
  • Support the development of business cases and facilitating the estimation process with IT and business partners
  • Manage the technical currency of applications to comply with Information Security and Enterprise architecture standard
  • Communicate business plans and IT roadmaps to IT teams
  • Oversee the support and development of applications within the assigned portfolio
  • Own the delivery focused on stability, service and speed to delivery
  • Partner with Product Owners and other IT stakeholders to establish intake, prioritization, and assignment of requests
  • Maintain and communicate a prioritized backlog
  • Stay abreast of application impacts through collaboration with Product Owners, Application Development Leads, and other IT teams
  • Partner with Resource Managers to ensure staffing needs are met for all assigned application activities
  • Ensure applications meet quality standards and defined KPIs
  • Manage application transitions between Build and Run including planning and execution
  • Lead Software development teams, following the Software Development Life Cycle principles.
  • Oversee the day to day work of Run lines
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members
  • Partner with other Application Owners to ensure 24x7 operations support coverage.
  • Compile and report on monthly status and quality metrics
  • Engaged with and knowledge of technology trends, products and capabilities within the assigned portfolio

Education

Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in an IT environment of equivalent size and complexity as NetJets
  • Four (4) years’ experience as manager leading, managing, supervising and directing the work of others
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including delegating, mentoring, and coaching
  • Demonstrated Planning and Project Management experience in delivering and providing software development life cycle support of large enterprise-scale solutions
  • Experience leading teams in a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 environment
  • Experience with project/resource management tools, agile team management tools/information radiators, risk management, and software development life cycle/project management life cycle processes and disciplines.
  • Financial planning, budgeting and analysis skills
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts to drive positive business outcomes
  • Ability to communicate with all levels and styles of management
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
