Purpose of Position

The Director, Accounting manages NetJets U.S. accounting policies, controls and procedures, maintains accurate and complete general ledger accounting operations as well as consolidation and reporting of financial performance in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The Director, Accounting serves as the subject matter expert in general ledger and accounting transactions, leads and develops the Accounting team and other process improvement projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manages the accounting for U.S.-based companies, including intercompany eliminations, consolidating journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements and related analysis
  • Ensure timely completion of accounting close process on a monthly and quarterly basis and compliance with regulatory requirements and company-established accounting policies and procedures
  • Performs technical accounting research and provides financial and accounting advice to internal stakeholders
  • Leads by example, establish cohesive team culture and positive environment, coach and develop junior members
  • Collaborates with other departments and support process improvement projects and initatives

Bachelor's in Accounting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Advanced knowledge in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance
  • Public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience
  • Relevant internal controls, consolidation and reporting experience in a corporate environment
  • Intermediate or higher level of Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains enterprise accounting software, or similar system preferred
  • Strong adaptability, communciation, time management, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to details, and effective organizational and problem solving skill
  • Strong ability to lead and develop teams
  • Project management experience focusing on goals, actions, and positive results
