Purpose of Position

The Flight Technical Programs Manager is an aviation professional who works in conjunction with the Director, Technical & Compliance Programs to develop strategies and engage in key initiatives with other department managers. Strategies and initiatives will encompass, but not limited to, the following areas of expertise: instrument flight procedure design & maintenance, NetJets tailored aeronautical data and the NetJets Aeronautical Data Process, Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS), technical operating requirements in the US National Airspace System (NAS), and international airspace operating requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supports flight technical compliance programs of NetJets Aviation with respect to: Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) equipment and operating requirements, special airspace operational approvals and operating procedures, and other flight technical programs or activities as assigned. Advises Director, Technical and Compliance Programs on all flight technical matters and partners with department managers and key stakeholders to ensure NetJets flight technical programs align with business requirements. 
  • Responsible for the ensuring the accuracy and quality of all aeronautical data through adherence to the NetJets Aviation Aeronautical Data program. Responsible for the availability, compliance, and Custom Inserted Content (CIC) and the NetJets Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) program across all fleets. 
  • Oversees and participates in NetJets instrument flight procedure design & maintenance with both internal and with external vendors, Instrument Flight Procedure Validation (IFPV), and Air Traffic Programs activities and functions. This includes issuing Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) information for procedures as required. Responsible for maintaining Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorizations and currency for NetJets Instrument Flight Procedure Validation (IFPV) personnel. Responsible for coordination with avionics manufacturers for coding test and production databases with the new procedures. Responsible for coordinating necessary chart publications for Instrument Flight Procedure Validation (IFPV) and line operational use.
  • Advises NetJets Asset Management department, on Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) & Air Traffic Management (ATM) equipment requirements for new aircraft fleet planning, as well as the Global Operational Capabilities Roadmap (GOCR). Ensures all flight technical operating requirements are incorporated in appropriate company operating policies and procedures and comply with applicable federal and/or international regulations or specifications.
  • Responsible for managing the NavData issue reporting process, Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR), and maintains current information for all NetJets Aviation aircraft avionics systems.
  • Supports all flight technical operating requirements and work required to ensure accurate and compliant information is documented in appropriate company operating policies and procedures. Partners with key stakeholders to ensure Flight Training & Standards department has adequate support for development and approval of training syllabi or modules used in NetJets aircrew training programs for technical flight operations for purposes of ensuring crew compliance with operational requirements. 
  • Represents NetJets in key Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Government Industry workgroups, activities, and seminars on the local, regional, and national level.  
  • Provides overall direction, guidance, feedback and opportunities for improvement and development while leading team initiatives for both internal teams and departments along with external vendors.
  • Other activities as assigned by Director, Technical & Compliance Programs. 


Bachelor's in Aviation Management

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

  • 4+ years’ experience in a Flight Operations or Fight Technical Programs position. 
  • 2+ years’ experience as Pilot-in-Command of turbine aircraft preferred. 
  • Aviation operations technical writing and other written communication skills. 
  • Thorough knowledge of on-demand or fractional program operations, regulations, FAA specifications, and technical flight operations requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively support or manage multiple work groups and projects. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills. 
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.
