Purpose of Position
The Deferral Programs Manager, is responsible for day-of direction of NetJets Aviation deferral programs, which are comprised of a Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), and Nonessential Equipment and Furnishings (NEF) for each airplane fleet authorized under current Operations Specifications (OpSpecs). The role includes cross-departmental coordination to ensure regulatory compliance and achieve standardization across the spectrum of fleet deferral programs in support of daily flight operations. The Deferral Programs Manager will support the Deferral Programs Director in liaison with the local Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and will become familiar with the processes of airplane and equipment manufacturers (OEM), and other industry organizations as they relate to deferral program matters.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, revising, and maintaining NetJets deferral program documents to ensure compliance with FAA-approved master documents, policies, and guidance material; coordinate with fleet maintenance, engineering and operations representatives to develop proposed maintenance and operational procedures required by the deferral programs; coordinate with local FAA representatives for review and approval of developed or revised documents; publish and distribute approved documents for access by stakeholders and other users.
- Assist the Deferral Programs Director in liaison with airplane manufacturers and Flight Operations Evaluation Board (FOEB) chairpersons to develop or propose changes to Master Minimum Equipment Lists (MMELs); assist in comprehensive review of, and provide input to, proposed MMELs during their development and approval process; access approved MMELs upon release by the FAA to commence application to company MELs; be prepared to coordinate with airplane manufacturers on recommended maintenance and operational procedures in support of MMEL/MEL requirements; and develop recommendations for airplane manufacturers to revise manufacturer-developed/FAA-approved CDLs as need for change is identified.
- Assist the Deferral Programs Director in the Director’s capacity as NetJets Aviation representative to the FAA MMEL Industry Group, and to other government and/or industry working groups, to maintain awareness of and provide input to policies, procedures and practices affecting NetJets operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) and Type Rating, or experienced pilot with Commercial Pilot rating, or Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
- Bachelor's degree or related experience
- 4+ years’ experience in a Flight Operations management position with NJA, or previous flight operations manager experience with a large 14 CFR, part 135 on-demand Air Carrier or FAR 91, subpart K, fractional program.
- Working knowledge of on-demand or fractional program operations, regulations, FAA specifications, and technical administration requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively manage multiple work groups and projects
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Aviation operations technical writing experience
- Personal computer skills including MS Office Suite, Outlook, and ProAuthor.
