Purpose of Position
The Flight Procedures Developer, Technical Pilot role is to develop and implement specialized approach, departure and landing procedures for the NetJets fleet of aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient navigation under various flight conditions. This role involves analyzing terrain, obstructions, airspace, and aircraft and avionics capabilities to create precise flight paths and approaches tailored to specific airports or regions.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Design and develop special instrument approach procedures (SIAPs) in compliance with FAA, ICAO, and other regulatory standards.
• Conduct thorough assessments and analyses of existing procedures to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for enhanced access.
• Collaborate with air traffic control, pilots, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback for procedure development.
• Provide technical support and training to internal and external stakeholders regarding the use and implementation of Special Procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to instrument flight procedures.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of special procedures in FAA approved level D flight simulators to ensure flyability in each aircraft type, avionics accuracy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
• Familiarity with the NetJets aircraft fleet is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in the use of design software and tools related to flight path and approach procedure design.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with ATC personnel in developing mutually functional and suitable flight procedures.
• Experience with FAA approved level D flight simulators.
• Experience with flight inspection or flight validation processes is highly desirable.
• Fluent in fundamental concepts of navigation, including PBN, RNAV, RNP, GNSS, SBAS, and VNAV.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• FAA ATP Pilot certificate required, professional certification or training in instrument procedure design standards (e.g., FAA TERPS, ICAO PANS-OPS).
Base Salary Range
$130,000 - $235,000
