Purpose of Position

The Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program is a FAA approved program designed to improve Aviation Safety by providing more information about, and greater insight to, the total flight operations environment through selective automated recording and analysis of data generated during flight operations. The Manager, FOQA Gatekeeper role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day FOQA Program operations to include the crew contact process, controlling access to identifying FOQA data, and provide training and guidance to FOQA Gatekeepers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Oversee the crew contact process.
Train, mentor, and supervise FOQA Gatekeepers.
Ensure identified information is held in strict confidence at all times.
Interface with the data processing vendor, Manager, FOQA, and other company personnel on issues that may impact the Gatekeepers or the FOQA Program.
Attend appropriate industry conferences, FOQA Monitoring Team meetings and present select data.
 

Education

Bachelor's in Aviation or related field

Certifications and Licenses

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Bachelor's degree and/or Pilot's license preferred.
Previous experience in Aviation Safety, Quality Assurance or a related role is preferred.
Familiarity with FOQA programs.
Ability to partner and effectively communicate up, down, across, and outside the organization.
Excellent facilitation, writing, and presentation skills.
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise good judgement in decision-making.
Ability to develop and maintain key functional processes.
