Purpose of Position

The Safety & Compliance Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs and projects within the Safety and Compliance division to ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational timelines. This role involves strategic planning, program execution, and continuous process improvement to uphold safety and compliance standards across the organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Program Management & Execution:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety and compliance programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, obstacles, and compliance issues that may impact program effectiveness.
  • Ensure program scope consistency across business units or affiliated entities, if applicable.

Stakeholder Communication & Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Vice President, Safety and project sponsors, subject matter experts, project teams, and external partners.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote collaboration, alignment, and transparency.
  • Provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and key performance indicators to leadership and relevant stakeholders.

Measuring the Effectiveness of Safety Program Investments:

  • Utilize benchmarking and industry standards to evaluate the effectiveness of safety investments in reducing incidents, improving workplace conditions, and enhancing regulatory compliance.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on optimizing resource allocation for safety initiatives.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to assess cost savings and efficiency improvements resulting from safety interventions.

Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to implement industry best practices to optimize safety and compliance initiatives.
  • Leverage data analytics to assess program performance and drive strategic decision-making.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives related to operational safety, compliance, and risk management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field

  • 4+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale implementation projects using a standard project management methodology.
  • Demonstrate accountability in project ownership and solution-oriented work approach.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Prior experience managing teams, tasks, project budgets, and prioritization of activities.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and build consensus with various audiences and manage project activities.
  • Proven organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to learn a new business domain and to build subject matter expertise in a short period of time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and project management tools.
  • Business analysis experience in process definition, gap analysis, and workflow design is preferred.
