Purpose of Position

The Safety Investigator assists the Safety Investigations Manager in the execution of the comprehensive NetJets Safety Program. This includes investigating safety events, incidents, accidents and facilitating the Safety Risk Management (SRM) Process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Conduct safety investigations of accidents, incidents, and irregular events and formulate recommendations to the business based on the findings. Investigations maybe conducted on site or remotely performed.
Facilitate Safety Risk Management process, conduct safety risk analysis, and monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls. Interface with operational departments and third-party providers to ensure standardization of safety risk controls across all areas.
Identify and work with Operational Departments, and third-party providers to implement Safety Enhancements.   
Conduct Safety Training for various employee groups, and third party providers.
Assist with Safety Meeting development and execution.

Education

Bachelor's in Aeronautics or Aviation Management

Certifications and Licenses

FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P)
FAA Commercial Instrument

Operational Experience within Aviation Safety, Flight Operations, Maintenance Operations or Equivalent transportation industry.
Complex problem solving, creative thinker, attention to detail, aviation basics, aviation law & government knowledge, quality control analysis, follow policies & procedures, and support co-workers. 
Professional training and/or education in safety investigation fundamentals.
Professional experience and/or education in Safety Risk Management (SRM). 
Formal accident investigation training from NTSB, Military or equivalent. (preferred)
Must possess a demonstrated high degree of personal and professional integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Detail oriented characteristics with an ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write effective reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, as well as teach Safety Training to various employee groups.
